My name is Andrew Johnson and my professional art label is NoseyOne. Why NoseyOne? Well, first of all, I have a rather large nose. Not the size nose that would turn heads in public (or at least I don’t think it does), but the kind of nose when I turn my head, it seems to always be in other people’s business (hence, being nosey). I have trouble drinking out of certain types of cups, and therefore require a straw. When I wear my hoody sweatshirts, the only thing that pops out from the hood is my nose. When I tilt my head all the way back, I add a few extra inches to my height (which is a plus when you are only 5’5). And, worst of all, I can never hide behind corners in a game of hide and go seek. But hopefully it knocks people off their feet (in a good way); knock on wood. And, being ‘nosey’ isn’t necessarily the worst thing. It’s good to be in other people’s business especially when that business not only benefits you, but the people around you. So, I have created NoseyOne, a place to view my art and a place for my art to view and get to know you. Be nosey!
I grew up in sunny Naples, Florida, a rapidly expanding beach town permeated with life’s little pleasures and humors. Surrounded by sandy white beaches, white hair, a downtown a sixth of the size of Kanye West’s ego, a community that screams diverse, and an overwhelming amount of Bichon Frise and well-groomed Poodles, I was able to see the beauty and humor in life.
My passion for visual arts quickly grew once I realized that the only thing I wanted to do in life was create, visualize and make people laugh. I enrolled into Bates College, a small liberal arts school located in the heart of Lewiston, Maine. Here, I was provided with aggrandized opportunities to expand my knowledge and thirst for the arts. I graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art and Visual Culture. I spent much of my college career studying the history of art, graphic design, photography, and theatre production.
My works focus heavily on illustrative graphic design and the photography of toys, emphasizing the lifeless humor that each figure posses. My specialties are in graphic design, concept photography, illustration, and plush design.
I continue to search for the funny. I persist to always keep learning, expand my artistic and visual knowledge, and find ways to make people laugh through my artistic mediums and vision.
I take great pride in my family and friends, honesty and sincerity, and building professional and friendly relationships, always striving to put a smile on everyone’s (if not someone’s) face.
I feed on my unique sense of humor and obscure, yet creative visual mind.
Please feel free to contact me personally at Noseyone.firstname.lastname@example.org. All of my work is for sale, unfortunately, my mind isn’t (could be a good or bad thing). I do freelance graphic design/photography and commissioned pieces.
Thanks for your interest. It is never a bad thing to be too nosey!
